Stock 07 Grand Prix V6 NA. Getting clunk noise when turning car off/on sometimes. Clunks when shifting into reverse. Im also able to hand rock the engine a bit. Doesnt clunk when nose is up on slight incline. Based on searchin the forum it is likely a mount.

Checked the car a bit while dropping trans pan for refill, noticed this bent looking piece, I think its a mount. http://imgur.com/a/LmnkZ

Is there supposed to be that bent bit in there like that?

Having the same problem with my 2000, going to check it out tomorrow. I know the mounts are a pretty common problem givin the description you gave. Ill let you know what i find out.

Cheers, been running some google image searches but unable to locate any shots showing the exposed wheel well area to compare it to mine.

Just found the part, took awhile because a majority of the trans mounts I was finding for sale online had a different design that has a plate/shield over the mount which made it appear different to me.

Anyways, it is definitely broken or at least the pin is bent, it should look like this http://imgur.com/a/Epa45

you need both lower engine mounts, tranny and engine. thats your clunk. see that tab pushed up int h etranny mount, the rubber under it is gone.

pop the hood, shift from P to D to R, watch the engine, i bet it flops back and fourth a good 4 inches, if you got oil leaks this also helps kill the engine mount, when that mount is shot the engine will twist in the bay. and clunk.

this is the first engien mount i went through, did everything im described above

a lot of them so called solid mounts are not solid. most are fluid filled. if you shake them you can hear fluid moving. drilling a hole in them will tell you for sure lol

mine are drilled, blown out, filled then left to cure for a few days.

Yes you have to be careful. The parts stores mix them up. The ones I got from rock auto are solid. I tried one from autozone cross referenced and it had fluid like you said.
