Climate Control Frustration

Hi all, I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction to fix the problem I'm having with my 99 Grand Prix GTP. It has the dual climate control and no matter what, on the driver's side there's always a little bit of warmth in the air even with the temp set down to 60. Turning on the AC cools the air down a bit but it's still warmer than it should be - and the passenger side always works great, heat&cool whether it's on dual mode or not.
It seems to me like maybe an air mix door of some sort is stuck or something? In the past when I'd use the dual climate control there'd sometime be some weird squeaking noise behind the dash, I assume that was just letting me know it was about to stop working.

Anyway, my question is, where do I start in my quest to locate and fix the problem? Has anyone dealt with this problem before? How big of a pain is it to get to whatever is causing this problem?

Thanks!!!

If it's only ac not being as cold as it's expected. Check the charge on the freon.

Since you've heard noises... I'd aim to the driverside actuator.
