clicking noise

My tranny is going on my 2007 Grand Prix between the hard shifts and burnt fluid I have come to terms with it and am going to get it rebuilt. However the last few days I have noticed a repetitive clicking noise when I accelerate fast.If I grandma the car it doesnt make the noise.Only when I put a stronger load on it.I am not mechanically inclined so I took it to a Mister Transmission shop. The tech told me he has never heard that noise before. Was wondering if anyone might have some advice.Thnx Tom

I am not sure of anything at this point. It just seems weird last week it was shifting a little harder than normal so I got the fluid and filter changed and the fluid was definately burnt. So I checked the fluid 2 days after the change and already it was turning brown. Then it starts making this noise at the same time as the tranny going.I dont know if it is related or not.

What a mess.Bear with me because I am not a mechanic. The tech at Mr.Transmission showed me the problem with tranny. My rad and tranny fluid have been mixing together resulting in the tranny needing a complete overhaul.Tech said there must be a crack in the rad,I guess the rad actually cools both tranny and motor(I did not know this call me stupid if you like),so everything in tranny that moisture could destroy was wrecked. The clutch plates were actually falling apart ant the gaskets were swollen(its real ugly). The chain is stretched and some of the plates were down to metal. Is it possible that the clicking noise I heard could be from this.I asked the tech and he gave me that look that I was grasping. So it looks like I get a new tranny and rad I figure by the time I am done I might better ask for a motor to go with it.

Sorry to hear that man. Yeah on alot of cars there is a small tanny cooler and oil cooler on the sides of the rad to help cool it with the passing air, they can sometimes crack and let them mix together and by the time you figure it out its already too late.
