Cleaning a MAF sensor?

I get the P0102 code and have done some searching around for answers. I have seen suggestions to first try a new air cleaner, then see if the code returns. Second try to clean the MAF sensor. Third, replace the MAF sensor.

Does anyone have instructions on how to clean a MAF sensor? Is it even worth trying?

Its real easy. You just take out the 3 screws and pull the top of the sensor off. Theres to little metal pins that have a wire attached to the top of them. They are fragile. Get some CRC MAF Sensor Cleaner and spray them down till they are shiny. Let em air dry and put it back in.

Be real careful when you are pulling the maf sensor off, pull it straight out so you don't hit the pins on anything.

Thank you, that sounds easy. I bought the cleaner and went to do it today but found what I believe to be torx screws, which I don't have the tool for. Can someone tell me what the proper driver is for those, so when I go to the store I get the right one.

Thanks,

Tron

Can't remember the exact size right off, its at home. I do know its not a regular Torx bit its specifically called a "Safety Torx". If you have regular torx laying around, match up what you got and get the exact same size but in the safety version (which will have a hole in the center for the nipple)...
