Cigarette Lighter Fuse

My 2000 GP GT seems to have an electrical problem. The cigarette lighter(s) worked fine for me for the first couple months I've had the car. Suddenly it constantly blows fuses, and it happens immediately when I try inserting a new fuse. Does that indicate a wiring problem? And does anyone know for sure if the lighters are the only thing controlled by this fuse? There are two lighters (technically I guess one is just an aux power), and neither works now, so I'm guessing they both use the same fuse.

How much of a pain is it to rewire the lighters if that's the problem?
