first of all, what's up everyone, i am new here.o k i took my love (my 04 gt1)to the dealer (chevy) because the temp gauge is always going to the half mark even after i put a new thermostat (180) the service rep told me that the car is suppose to run hot about (192 ) at all times and that my air cleaner is not good for the car and told me that the mass air flow senser would get damage because of it , i don't think this guy know's that much about grand prix... dose anyone , or has anyone had this problem before???? i need some input thanks...

All i know is that you need your pcm reprogrammed to turn the radiator fans on at 180, otherwise that thermostat isnt doing much good

your "air cleaner?" you mean an aftermarket filter you put on? depends on what kind, K&N is an oil-based filter, so there is potential for it to damage the MAF. Just something to keep in mind if you ever get problems. Other filters like the Spectre and AEM are dry-flow filters, no oil, no damage
