changed the crankshaft position sensor now no start

04 grand prix. 170k miles. I changed the crank sensor just for preventive maint. now it doesnt start. Bad sensor? its an AC delco part.
The car just makes a fast clicking noise like a dead battery (but its not)..Thank you for your thoughts
 


Talked to my mechanic buddy.. he said it is the battery..just a coincidence.. its a 3 year battery 4 years old only putting out 10 volts.. Waiting on the GF to take me to get one
 
Did you try cleaning up and tightening the cables first? Sounds like maybe you just had some corrosion build up, or didn't have one tightened up enough. I realize it's probably too late at this point, but just something to keep in mind for the future, so you don't replace a good battery if you don't have to.
