Catalytic Converter HELP!!!!!!

I know my Catalytic converter is going out because it smells like rotten eggs when i get on the pedal. How hard is it to do and How much would a shop charge?

Easy. And they wont charge anything. Because you're gonna cut it out and install one of ZZP's downstream O2 sensor simulators.

Or at least that's my suggestion.

What year? Because, anything '01+ you can't put an o2 simulator in there and not **** with the cat diagnostics in the PCM. You can get a universal high flow converter from Magnaflow off of EBay for like 50 bucks...and a shop would probably charge like 10-20 bucks to cut out the old one and weld in the new one.

Keep in mind, unless it is a factory unit, most of the time it'll still trip the SES light for a catalyst since it flows better than stock.

Considering ZZP's catted 3" one not only gives you better performance and MPG's, but it's at least a hundred bucks less.

Well, a universal welded into the stock DP would be cheaper, but it'd probably be cost effective down the road, especially with gas prices on the rise to help those MPG's out. I noticed a few more MPG's easily going from a totally stock exhaust to my 3" downpipe/3" catback setup.

Nothing that you wouldn't really be able to see unless you had the car strapped to a dyno in my opinion.
