Catalytic Converter Code

I recently had an issue which was stated my catalytic converter was failing, long story short it turned out to be a complete transmission rebuild...anyways the cat was changed out and ever since I have had a PO420 code and only this code. The shop changed the cat out to another new one and still have the same code. Is there something else I should be checking?

what year car you got there?

its the rear o2 setting the code most likely due to a hi flow cat. a emulator will move the o2 out the pipe some and help to get rid if it. or you can find some one with a tune to tune the code out.

01 up are very picky about the cat and the rear o2 sensor. cheap way is to get a simulator and try that out.

heres a vid, this will explain it better.

not really unless they installed a oem cat. but those cost much more then after market cats. its 5 bucks and and 1/2 hour of your time. its worth a shot.

Ok, so I do not have the ability to use a drill press or lathe. Would simply swapping the rear O2 sensor for a new one be a good idea in this case? Bare in mind I am not having any other code, it is JUST P0420.

what lathe or drill press? yo uneed a drill and a bit, that s it. you can hold the emulater with vice grips or some thing.

thats stuff not needed, i dint watch that whole vid before posting it.

vice grips and a drill works, or a vice and a drill. drill the bottom of the emulator out.
