Cat or No Cat

Mk, I have a question for those of who have upgraded your stock exhaust system and still have emissions, live in the city, etc.

Our emissions standards USED to be that we would have to get a tailpipe test. Since then, they have went to testing via OBDII. Thus, my question is, should I go catless or not? When I went through inspection this year, they did not put a mirror under my car or anything like that to see if the cat was there. And YES I plan on getting a tuned PCM and I can have the cat code tuned out and bypass all of that mumbo jumbo.

So thats a yes or no.

Then, the question is to get one of those things that "appear" that you have a cat or not?

And finally, for a DP, will I need the rear o2 bung if I don't have a cat?

So yeah, the main question is to just do a hi-flow cat and bypass all the extra stuff, or go catless and go from there?

Thanks!!

Brandon

without readings the thread contents, just the title im gonna say DOG

;) just trollin with ya B

edit - i vote just go highflow, better for the environment and could save you programing troubles.

Well if you wanna go catless but still want it to look like you have one just hollow out your stock cat.
But i'd get a high flow. Mainly because I wouldn't want rasp or soot on my bumper.

Im catless and matters how the breeze is blowin but can make the cabin smell like sh!t fast. Wish I went with a cat but oh well

hmm alritey. just some food for thought i guess. but i guess i've decided on going with headers anyway, so ill just put a hi-flo cat on there just to play it safe
