Car won't stay running...

2000GTX

So I was coming home from college for xmas break and I was doing about 70 and the car sputters, fires up again, and then sputters and dies right away. I thought it was moisture in the gas but I put gas in it and some heet and I am still having issues.
The car will fire right away and idle for about 20 seconds before it sputters and dies. However, if I keep it above 3000 rpm or so it will stay running as long as I want it to, but as soon as I let the revs drop down below 3000 rpm or so it sputters and dies right away.
I am pretty sure it isn't moisture in the gas or a fuel pump because above 3000 rpms it runs great. I have heard fuel pressure regulator or throttle position sensor could be the culprit but I really have no clue.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I agree it does sounds like water in the gas, that being said I would look next to the ignition system. I’d first check your spark plugs and wires. Then check your ignition coils.
Also, IIRC if it was the fuel pressure regulator it would sputter on acceleration. And not so much steady state.

if it has a super charger I would bet its the resistor for the fuel pump in the wheel well behind the battery. They get wet you can by pass it to make sure.

Fuel pressure regulator is what my money goes on. Pull the vacuum line to it and check to see if gas is in there

Tried the fuel pressure regulator, o2 sensor, fuel pump relay, and fuel filter and none of them helped
However right after putting the new fuel filter on it ran fine for a while and started running bad again. Also after disconnecting the fuel filter and running a little bit of gas out of it and reconnecting the filter again it did the same thing, ran fine and then started running bad again.
I think it just sounds like bad gas now? Is there any easy way to drain the tank?
