Car wont start after the 1.9 rocker install, the starter works but idk whats up with it. The only thing i can think of that might be messed up is the wires i had to solder together. Its the wire that goes to the coil its purple and its connected to another peice that wraps around the whole car, soo idk what to do. I put in my stock pcm just to see if it will start. I'm just not getting any spark. I have all of the wires hooked up and i have all the plug wires in the right spot.

Why did you cut the wire to begin with?

Also if you get that figured out what did you torque the rockers too...if you tq'ed them too much it won't start either.

The wire broke soo i had to solder it back. I trq the rockers to 11ft pounds plus 90 degrees maybe ia few degrees more.

I got instructions from both zzp and intense racing and they said 11ft lbs plus 90 degrees

I'm more concerned with the wires i soldered. The wire that broke off is a purple wire that connects to the coil pack plug in, and that wire was connected to another wire that wraped all around the firewall, i wish i had some pics to make it easyer to explain.

Did you put the ICM ground back on? The little wire with a ring terminal that goes on a bolt by the SC belt tensioner?

I am having the same problem. But I do not see a ground wire from my icm. does any one have a picture? I though the thing underneath it grounds it.

There's a single wire that comes off the harness somewhere and goes to a ring terminal on one of the bolts that holds the coil pack bracket to the head. It's all under the coil packs and ICM and down by the SC belt tensioner and the idlers.

You can see it in this pic. It's coming off a harness in the left side of the image. Look over by the crank pulley. Just chilling in open air (since my motor was torn down). At least lets you know what it looks like...

o ok thanks....I think i have that grounded to my ac compressor...lol. Is the tach suppose to go up and down while cranking, because mine just sits at 0 rpm.

On every car I've been in the gauges stay dead while cranking to leave more power for the starter.

same here, but i think some one in a previous thread said something about it...I've tried almost everything except the CPS, but i find it hard to be broken after only 26k miles.
