Hi all, I have a 2000 GTP with 130k on the clock. I just recently moved from Michigan down to Longview, Texas area and my GTP has died on me. The week before I left MI I had the car in to the dealer to replace the lower intake manifold gasket (was starting to get coolant near the injectors). We got the car back from the dealer and litteraly moved to Texas a few days later. The car was loaded into a van trailer and shipped down. The very first week in TX, I had the intermittant stalling while driving problem. It would shut off without warning and be able to start right back up, within that same hour it quit and wouldn't start until it sat for about 15min. Drove it home and parked it. Since that day it won't start at all now and that was a few weeks ago. Since we have another vehicle I just let it set while I did some searching here in the forums and tried to self diagnose the prob. No check engine light came on from this issue and I ran the code reader and all I get is P0449 which was evap sensor malfunction. Anyways, after doing my research I figured it could be either fuel or spark. So I tested at the rail and have 50 psi HI/ 45 psi low. Not fuel, injectors are also firing. Check spark...got none. So I started with the obvious...unplugged the MAF and no start. Replaced the crank position sensor, no start. Replaced the cam sensor and it fired up and ran about 4 seconds and then died. Tried to restart and it would fire/run then die within 3 seconds. That went on for about a minute or so and after that it would even pop or snort. Check spark....got none. So I thought what the heck I will change out the cam sensor again, maybe I got a faulty one from auto zone. Still no start. I realize the next culprit could be the ICM or the PCM but I do not have any interest to keep wasting money.

I am finally fed up with this POS, I went out and bought a new car, and am now trying to figure out what to do with this GTP. I am not going to keep throwing money at it hoping to get it running by randomly replacing the common sensors that cause no start issues. I have check all my coils and no spark from any one of them.

At this point I would just assume sell it to another GTP enthusiest who will get this car going again and enjoy it. I just dropped $500 on new LIM gaskets, it has a new crank and cam sensor and the fuel rail has 50 psi. Surely someone out there can figure this out and have a fun cheap ride. If anyone has any ideas on what to do to get the car running, please help. If not, I am gonna post it on craigslist here in East Texas or part it out and get money that way.

Help please!
Thanks

Jeremy

I went outside and pulled the ICM and also checked the harness for grounds and hots. There were 2 pins that showed ground and about 4-5 pins that were constant hot. I think that seems strange that there would be constant hots with key off????

Randomly testing w/o info is probably not going to help you much.

Here's some info for ya!

Thank you Sir!

I took the ICM to AutoZone yesterday and it failed on their testing equipment. I will try to locate one from a bone yard before droping $130 for a new one.

Thanks
