Car wobbles side to side on initial take off.

Recently my car started to have a wobble at take off and a vibration at high speeds. I got it up and front wheels off today and found the sway bar broken right on the drivers side clamp where it attaches to the frame at. Replaced it with the Dorman sway bar kit. Didn't make any difference. When braked and release and then accelerating, we're talking 5mph, the car feels like it's wobbling left and right. I pulled and pushed on the strut towers and all suspension parts but I didn't get any movement. Suggestions?

Seems like a separated tire. Check tires if one side of the tire is balding or less tread than the other half, then most likely a bad tire, had this problem a week ago. Replaced the tire and smooth as ice.

Needs a video so we can see what is going on.

because then

wobble baby, wobble baby, wobble baby, wobble.

When u say wobble at take off...u mean like a hard take off? Or a nice easy acceleration

Normal acceleration. If you put it in neutral and pushed it you'd feel it. Makes me think of wagon wheels wobbling.

It could be a bad CV axle. My 04 did this when the left side was bad. It would wobble when I was accelerating and was smooth when I let off the gas.

I do have some horizontal/left and right movement on the front tires when it's in the air. Not much but enough. I guess the inner tie rods are worn out and causing it to wobble when moving. Sound likely?

That would be ur putter tie rods that are bad

Did you check it at 12 and 6 to see if the hubs have play?

And do this...could be a hub.

I wouldn't rule out CV half shafts. I've replaced both of mine.

Hub didn't have any play, just the passenger tie rod. Gonna go get one and change it out then do the old tape measure alignment.

Once I had the tire off the inner tie rod was not moving. When I moved the disc side to side I could see that it was moving without moving the tie rod, just a bit. Changed out the outer tie rod because the inner was solid, and the tire no longer moves at 3 and 9. However it didn't do **** towards fixing it. Coasting at 5 mph with no throttle the car shimmies and wobbles almost like a horse side to side. Shifting it to neutral changes nothing, it still wobbles. It's like that ****ed up cart at Walmart with the one bad wheel. It just wants to shift back and forth. I can't find anything loose no matter how much I pull or push. It's almost like it's a bent rim. Can these rims even bend since they're not steel? Would taking them to check the balance tell me if the rim is bent?

Rotate the front tires to the back, see if it stops. if they have low thread they could be egging on you, or getting a bubble/lump/hump in the tire.

if it does it rolling in neutral id be all over a tire rotation, as nothing from the engine is powering the wheels.

if the wheel is bent, a tire balance will show that.

It's almost like it's a bent rim.
I would think if you jack it up and set something next to the wheel for reference and spin it, then you see if it was moving. Also watch the gap between the ground and see if the tire is out of round.

Good suggestions. The weekend is my work week, so it will have to be Monday before I check. Thanks for the replies.

Yes like I mentioned before and others also it really sounds like a tire issue. I've had a bubble/hump on a tire cause exactly what you describe.

Also when you check the hub play at 6 and 12, do it with the tires on. I have replaced two and both of them had no play sitting on the bench. The tires add some leverage and that leverage is there going down the road. As have been previous mentioned, I am betting on a tire.

They were checked with the tires on, there's zero movement.

Found the problem today, it was the driver's rear, had a large bubble on one part. I've never seen a tire do that, here's some pics
