Car troubles with my gtp, whats new

I have a 98 gtp which keeps draining its battery because my center council will turn on automatically after I turn the car off and pull the key out of the ignition. I know it has something to do with the ignition because when I fiddle with the ignition it will turn off. I need to know how to change my ignition, or if there would be a way around it. Can anyone help me?
