car surges at 1500 rpm at 55 mph

i have 2 things going on at 55 mph at about 1500 rpm the car will surge and the trac light is off when i turn the car on also the car has to crank a while before it starts not very long about 4or5 seconds

welcome to the foums. probably a sensor like usual. does it still surge with trac off?

the trac control is off when i start the car and it should be on

do the rpms bounce around?? if so it could be the torque converter lock up sliping.

also my trac light does not come on when i turn on the car the track light is off might have something to do with it.
