Car shopping for my sister.

The tilte explains itself.

My sister is looking to buy a newer car now that her 97 honda accord is just starting to age (180k) and become more a problem car that she just wants to get rid of.

She is looking for a 4 door car or maybe even a small SUV with 4x4.

Me and my dad have been thinking of alot of different cars that she could buy, so far here is a mini list.

Grand Prix
Buick Regal
Nissan Maxima/ Altima
Newer Honda Accord
Toyota Camry?

So what I am asking is for some more input on other cars out there on the market that might be a good car for her. Her price range is from 3-5k, so any idea's will help.

GMC Typhoon :th_eyebrows:

All wheel drive, small SUV type of thing and isn't factory showroom brand new. I'd say it fits the bill :th_thumbsup-wink:

maximas are really nice cars I would suggest the altima or maxima. Not sure what to suggest for the suv but i know those blazers are solid and they actually look decent if u throw some rims on and minor appearance changes. How bout a jetta?

The 98+ blazers look better than the previous. Although theyre not the prettiest thing they run good, get around good, and are reliable in my experience

Man, I love both of my cars and both can be had in your price range. Find an older cherokee or grand cherokee with the inline 6, this thing is bulletproof. Paid 2200 for mine with 173k and it's 100% solid vehicle. Also the inline 6 in my BMW, although head gaskets go every 150-200k miles and that cost me roughly 1300 (though can be cheaper depending on head condition). Paid 600 for it, but you can probably find a running one in the 3k range.

X2 on the Blazer, the S10/Blazers were absolute pieces of garbage.
My s10 threw the clutch fan off into the radiator, I mean, honestly how crappy does a motor have to be for that to happen? That thing nickle and dimed me to death.
