car not shifting right??

so im driving down the freeway crusing at 70mph and i look at my guages. the tack is sitting at 3grand when im doing 70mph. it feels like the motor is struggling to keep up. its not losing power just feels like its working to hard to be going so slow. i can shift from D to 3rd at 70 and tack wont move at all. is my car not shifting past 3rd? would changing trans oil help? it hasnt been changed in a good 2 years that i know of.
 


how would i check the solenoid? and im gonan look at a tep tranny are they useally pretty pricy?
 
well just looked at there site. and dunno if i ant to spend 1700+ on a new trans think i might try to do the shaft there site describes. saying its a pretty comon issue for these trans to lose 4th because of a splined shaft that gets worn down and doesnt lock.
 


yea im gonna look into that option this weekend aswell.. i just want something reliable that works. i dont need a high performance trans right now.
