I just got done waxing my car using a porter cable.it took me about 7 hours and after i was done it sat in the garage for a day. now after i went outside and started it,i get this-
traction control off
stability control off
service ABS system
service traction control
service stability control
service variable effort steering
now the steering is a little harder.i unplugged the ground on the battery and left it for about 3-4 minutes but that didnt help:th_coocoo:.

That's goods prob just a loose connection somewhere or your car just straight up didn't like the wax maybe it was warning you lol

This might be a wheel bearing/speed sensor/abs something, or perhaps a fuse loose/going bad or something from what I've seen... but it's kind of infrequent, yes? interestingly, happened right after I use a PC to polish the hell out of a GP. Probably best to just start replacing parts beginning with the cheapest and moving on up.

hate it when random stuff happens. I changed the oil on my dad's car for him, went to start it and it won't start. Turned out the battery was dead (wtf)

Maybe you built up enough static electricity to fry the BCM or something?

That would be... a lot.

This much:

Threw a code that only a TechII could see: C0550 - Your Electronic Brake Control Module is being a little b*tch. GM manual says to replace it.

Edit: Luckily, they're only $800. Wonder if you can get it repaired.

Edit: $620
