so friday was my birthday and my first gift happened to be a car accident. Basically my neglect for buying new tires has caught up with me because my car slid going downhill into an old school s-10 which had one of those tough ass metal bumpers. luckily the other guy had no damage on his car.

at the moment these are some pics of my car. i will be picking a new hood, bumper, and fenders on monday (tomorrow) and will have her painted over the weekend if i can get everything installed by then.

Re: Car Crash Reconstruction

If your talking about the lower part, u can paint it dark gray or keep it the same color as the car? theres some one on here that painted theirs black.
What is the back bumper lower color?

Re: Car Crash Reconstruction

right now i have the rear fascia the stock silver color it came with, however im having the whole car repainted, am im not sure if i want to make them both black, or keep them a different tone of silver

Re: Car Crash Reconstruction

thats what i wanted to do but in these pics it seems to take away attention from the fascias

that car looks good but i think itll take away attention from my car specially cuz the bronzemist is darker then that red... i want something that'll make it pop, and make it one of the first things you notice

Re: Car Crash Reconstruction

To me it makes it look more bold than anything else.

I've got a galaxy silver with a dark gray lip, it compliments it nicely.

Re: Car Crash Reconstruction

dude that is harsh. sorry to hear about ur accident. I won't go into detail about a lesson learnt here, I am sure u know what it is ;-). hope it all comes out nice and sweet painted up. as for facias I am partial to a detail colour, like bigboib's, maybe not black but a complimentary contrasting colour.

Re: Car Crash Reconstruction

taking a look at the pics: they look a little rough but thats not what the car really looks like. i have to blow out some of the dust from the sanding. and the reason the hood and the bumper are so seperated is because there is a piece missing, once i pick it up, the gap will be gone, also gonna get the inserts for the rear fascia, and while the rear fascia looks a little sloppy, it isnt, there is just water in the crack

so i got my car back and posting pics:

they guy who did it is going to be doing some more work on it, im going to have the back end of the car re-sprayed too. i also got keyed on my rear passanger door, he's gonna do some more body work on her, and once i buy the parts, he's gonna put in the hid aswell.

grille inserts i got from ebay, they are made by alfa otto (i think thats how its spelled)

Re: Car Crash Reconstruction (Updated 11/3)

What's up with them putting your hood on crooked? It's not lining up in the front and you can tell from the first pic there is little gap on the pass side and too much drivers.

Re: Car Crash Reconstruction (Updated 11/3)

The number of bronze mist cars on here has tripled in the last few months.

Re: Car Crash Reconstruction (Updated 11/3)

When I got into my accident, I had to replace the front end too..

The bumper didn't come with a pontiac emblem :( kinda cool though.. sometimes lol

the whole passanger side needs to be done. i have to get a new wheel well for that side. due to a previous accident (the person i got it from got into an accident before me)

ive been running into alot of bronzemist cars just by my house and my school. i see atleast 3 on a daily basis

i have the emblem from the old bumper, but i actually like this better. im going to debadge it all hopefully sometime this weekend

Re: Car Crash Reconstruction (Updated 11/3)

Ive always said that with huge one piece bumpers everything from the windshield forward will need to be aligned! A popsicle stick is your friend or a plastic putty knife to set panel gaps. Moving the fenders isnt really that hard and once you do that the hood bumper and headlights will fit a million times better. Also bend up the crappy thin metal that holds the top of the bumper right below the hood to close the gap. The hood latch sits on a bar in front of the radiator that can be moved up and down also. Trust me ive owned 3 Gps this body style and have hit my share of deer. :th_thumbsup-wink: Paint looks great just fix the gaps

Re: Car Crash Reconstruction (Updated 11/3)

the no badge indent on the bumper means its not an OEM bumper! just sayin...
