Car Bogs down...

Hi,
i own a 97 grand prix gtp.

owned the car since i was 15. replaced the engine, and in the past month i just got a new performance alternator for it. soon after i replaced it actually the same night, i noticed that while im sitting there idling my car it bogs down. my voltage meter reads 14 most of the time, as i idle it bogs down to 2. i give it gas, it goes back up to 14.

any ideas?

engine is fine, alternator obviously is new unless theres a short in a wire, or wasnt connected properly... any other ideas?

also key note
have new fuel pump, fuel filter, raditor and hoses, new heater core.

Do you think that might be the only problem? because i read on other posts that peoples GTP's are boggin down and just shut off, and like mine have to give it gas for it to run fine, untill i get to a redlight and then you can hear it sounds like a mustang lol...

might try another alternator if its not it then i know thats not it for sure..

did see other people thinking it was the MAF sensor..

Not sure about the bogging. But if the voltage drops like that it does sound like an alternator problem. You should try cleaning the maf first because that's easy and cheap.

maf sensor? or just in general...
i had problem with that before, because i took the maf sensor plus out, and it started fine, plugged it back in and it shut off... that was a while ago atleast a year or 2. ill give that a try if not, get my alternator checked maybe i got a bad one.
