Car Audio forums/posts for tuning your sound system

To be honest, I didn't find much in the way of EQ tuning (unless my searching sucks) but does anyone have a forum / actual post regarding tuning your EQ? I have a Pioneer AVHX3700BHS and a Alpine type S 12'', just looking for baseline tips for tuning the EQ along with other settings that might be applicable to my hardware.

Tune it where it sounds best to you. If you want to tune it flat then use your phone with a Db app and use a CD or some other source to feed signals to your system that correspond to the settings of the EQ if you are using a 1/3 octave EQ start playing a frequency of 25Hz and set the EQ so that it reads say 85db then do the same with each frequency 31.5Hz,40,50,63,80,100, 125 and so on until you get to 20K. At that point it will be set completely flat for one side, then do the other side. Make sure to place the microphone where your head will be and make a dummy that will absorb sound as that will change the outcome. Then adjust your low and high end to suite you. If you are using a 7 band EQ then you are wasting your time and just need to set it to your personal preference.

Make sure it is quiet when testing so nothing else interferes with the signal you play.

Don't try to get the sound much higher or you can smoke your tweeters playing them too loud for too long.

Start with the volume close to the setting for the 85Db I mentioned before. You can turn it down, but anything too low and you will have interference from other sources.

Don't run the engine.

The app on a phone will get you close, a Db meter is better and an RTA is the best.
