can't tell if bad coupler

my girlfriends car is a '98 GTP.


I cannot tell if it is bad coupler or not. It sounds exactly like the rock chattering sound in the videos. If it is a bad coupler should it always sound like that? I just went out and started it (cold) and listened for about 40 seconds and didn't hear it at all.


so is there a way or some type of test I can tell if it is really a bad coupler or not?
