Can you identify this shifter cable?

Hi:
Just received a shifter cable in the mail from Morad but it doesn't look the same as the one on my 1997 GTP. I am the 5th owner so I am not surprised it isn't stock. I want to just replace the engine part of the cable so I reallllllly want to find the same cable. Does my pic look familiar to anyone? Could this be a universal GM cable? Thx!

The shifter cable is in two parts. One from the shift inside the car to under the hood. The second part from that to the tranny. The picture looks like the second half that connect to the tranny. Did you happen to get the part from the shift through the firewall?

Thanks for responding. Yes- I have the "inside the car" part but I would like to just replace the engine half so I need the same cable. You are correct that the picture shows just the engine half.

I got mine from Morad Parts Company. Was not very expensive. If they sent the wrong one, call them up and ask for the one you need.

Thanks, Morad sent me the right one for my car but one of the previous owners must have replaced it because it is not the original. I wish I knew what car it came off of so I could get the same one. I realllly don't want to have to replace the "inside the car" part.

The one in your picture looks just like my 97 GTP shifter cable. Can you take a picture of the one that broke, the entire cable, as well as the one that Morad sent to you. This would help better identify the differences.

ShifterCable 009 - The outside cable came off my 1997 GTP. The inside cable I received from Morad (it matches the one on my 2001 GT). Both are only the engine half of the cable. I need another one like the outside cable because this one snapped. Is this the same one that is on your 97 GTP? Thanks for your help!

Mine looks just like the outside one as well. Call up Morads, maybe they sent you the wrong one and can send a new one out for you.

Hey Thanks! You made my day. I emailed Morad yesterday. Waiting to hear back. When I saw the one Morad sent me matched my 2001 GT, I figured the one on my 1997 GTP was after-market. If it is original, it should be easier to find. Thanks again for your help. I will follow up when I hear back from Morad.

Hi - just heard back from Morad. They are going to swap me for the one I need. Couple more days until I can shift from inside my car - WooHoo!!! Guess I have to put the air-intake back on so I can drive until the new cable arrives. Thanks for helping me think this thru.

Hi- Installed my shifter cable (just engine side). Everything looks good but I can only shift down (from park, reverse, drive, 3rd, etc.). When I move my shifter up (3rd, drive, reverse, park), nothing happens. What am I missing? Thx.
