Can TC be turned off on a 2007 Grand Prix GT

Can the traction control be turned off,I hit the switch but nothing happens.Will it tell you if it is disengaged?
 


Yes. It should bring up a traction control disabled indicator on the DIC, and turn on a TC OFF light on the speedo cluster.
