Can I use studs for my rockers

I was wondering if its ok to use studs for the rocker arms. Here is a pic of what im thinking of using.

These studs are

Dorman Part # 675-201
Black oxide coated
150,000 PSI

Thread A length (in head) is 5/8" with 5/16-18 thread Thats the same that was engaged with the bolts. Thread B length is 1-5/8 with 5/16-24 thread. We even offer the lock nuts for the tops so that would be extra safety against them coming loose.

I see no reason why this wont work.

Maybe that it won't clear the valve covers...?

You need to have the longer portion of the stud going down into the head, not the shorter. Also, how do you intend to preload the studs? There's no head on the end to torque them in before applying the nut.

Go find the dimensions for the Comp Cams re-usable bolts...then go buy them at your local hardware store.

This really isn't any area you want to be cheaping out on or screw up on, just buy the reusable one's from zzp.

Not trying to cheap him out. They are reusable...in fact they are stamped EXACTLY like the Comp reusable bolts. I sat there dumbfounded myself when I stumbled upon them...$.80 cents a pop or something like that. It never hurts to save a few bucks when you really can. FYI I ran these for well over a year with no issues.

My Comp Cams reusables were unique and had Comp Cams branding on them. Had no stamping other than their logo.

I got them in my rocker install kit from ZZP. I thought it came with the OEM bolts, but mine came with the Comp Cams bolts. No complaints.

Do you know what those numbers mean? Most likely it's just the thread pitch, shaft length, and the shaft diameter. How do you know the strength and temperature tolerances are the same? I would hope you at least used Grade 8 bolts.

I don't even see the point. The Comp Cams bolts are only $20. Why not get something you know is intended for that setup? The reason they're more expensive is because of the hardening processes used since they're in a high load and high temp application.
