Can I swap a 3100 M (95) with a VIN J (2000)

My motor is officially DOA (locked up). It is a 95 3100 Vin M in a grand Prix. I found a 2000 3100 or 3.1 Vin J with only 50k for a good price. Will it work? What is the major differences between M and J motors besides emissions? Any help is appreciated.

One more question. What determines if the center AC mount hole is drilled and tapped or not??? My car has AC. Is there more than one mounting location? This question kept popping up when looking for a motor.

I belive just the intake is different, the heads are fine but you may have to use the injectors from your original engine also.
