Can I run stock pushrods with H.S. 1.9 RR's?

I picked up a set of used H.S. RRs with the revised pedestals and they are in good shape. I also have new valve cover gaskets and grommets, reusable rocker bolts and new L76 G8 springs, retainers and locks. My only concern now would be the pushrods.

Is it possible to run stock pushrods with Harland Sharp 1.9 roller rockers? The question is three-fold;Is the stock length ok? Are they strong enough for the heavier rocker arm? Do they need to be oil restricted?

Thanks in advance,
JL

the stock pushrods will do you fine unless you really wanted to spend some money on the fancy ones.

the only reason why you'd change the length is if the rockers were adjustable or if you changed to a cam that had a differently sized base circle.

I had special length pushrods for my 1.84 ZZP Rollers a couple years back...had to do with the pedestal height I believe.

Stock will be fine, though roller rockers only need a "splash" of oil to operate, so oil restricted push rods are not a bad idea. Helps keep the oil in the bottom end where its really needed ya know. But drowning them in oil wont hurt anything either. :th_thumbsup-wink:
