Can I remove motor mount torque struts?

I am trying to replace the head gaskets on a 2003 Grand Prix SE, and it looks like the motor mount torque struts, at the front of the engine, bolt on to the head. If I remove them, will the engine roll and possibly get damaged? or is supported elsewhere on the engine?

What do I need to do to remove them and get to the head gaskets?

take them off, itll give you a lot more room. the motor will fall back a little, but not much.

Thanks for your help. One last question, does anyone know how to remove the passenger side torque strut bracket?

There is a bolt that goes in to the head, and the torque strut bracket sits on top of the bolt head. There must be some other bolts attaching the bracket to the engine, but I can't see them anywhere. I need to remove that bolt to get to the head gasket.
