CamShaft thoughts

I want a CamShaft that will provide plenty of power from low-end to top end thru out the powerband(my new build will compliment the Cam very well)

But yet i need a Cam that will idle around 700-800rpm or close to stock or at least somewhere in that tolerable comfortable range.

I also need to be able to pass state emissions

Im choosing from four Cams. ZZPs XP and XPZ and Intense Stage 2 and Stage 3. ZZPs VS Cam is decent but i want a cam with more power, you know....worth the time and money(minds well get the most out of the S/C while im at it)

What CamShatft do you guys think would best fit my build ?

whatever is leading you to believe that those larger than stock cams will idle better at stock-ish idle RPM, you're wrong. usually you bump the idle UP a little bit to smooth it out.

those cams may idle there, but the only reason you'd do it is to accentuate the lope of the cam...not to make sure you can tolerate the idle. you're thinking backwards.

Cams are simple IMO, go BIG or gone home! No sense doing all that work for a MIlD cam... Just doesn't make sense to me, lol

thanks for listening...

maybe, just maybe some day when I get time, I'll get my build into my engine bay :(

lol you're buying an aftermarket cam based solely on it idling like stock? HAHAHAHA
any of the 3800 cams will idle smoothly if you can tune it - the exhaust will still be choppy. How choppy depends on the size of the cam.

Im more worried about passing emissions.

My car is not an all out race car, it is a daily driver but i do want that sleeper power for whenever i just wanna smash somebody

So , because I don't know this answer and I never seen it posted, where do you find cam / emissions data ? Cause until you have that info , it's all a crap shoot
