ok so heres the deal im getting a new 3800 put in this week and want to have a cam installed while thats being done i was gonna go for the ZZP vs cam should i go for it or no cause the rest of it is stock and i know zzp sais it runs fine with all stock components i just want a 2nd opinion

VS is fine with stock springs and timing chain setup.

i would just go bigger cause a VS is a small cam, but that's just me.

Well...I went with the XP...but you need headers and springs and a good tune to run good with that...IMO go for the NIC cam...lets see how that ***** runs :D

the vs cam can put close to the same numbers as the xp. the xp is more of a high end cam. i think vs is good for street use plus you can keep everything else stock. its a good cam for what it is.

and yes i too would like to see what the nic can do :D

Most intercooled guys run with a VS...I just think if your gonna do a cam swap don't skimp on it and get the XP ;)

vs can be ran perfectly fine with no intercooler. some dont want the high end out put of the xp. i would say s1x.

not everyone is going for all out performance. some want a good midrange cam that works well on the street. not that the xp does not. but some would rather have more midrange power then topend power. bigger is not always better

at this point since i realize that this is not a race car, i would be ricer enough to buy a cam for wicked idle alone. NIC or IS3 are badass.

yea well... money is a issue considering im getting a whole new engine so im stuck with stock springs, rockers and such so im thinking that VS is my best option cause i dont want codes to get set constantly from another cam cause i dont have tuning equipment and all the dynos around here are **** and my goal is to make it to zzps dyno by the end of summer so i think nothing to extreme will be a good fit for me... next step after this will be headers and than a smaller pulley ... one step at a time

12s with bolt ons can be had with any valvetrain work. you just need to be able to get enough traction.

I have had the S1x, then the XP, and another car with a VS. Of those 3, I liked the VS the most because it had the most mid-range power.....so I didn't have to mash the gas to feel the power of the cam.
