i want to do one or the other, what would be the best thing to put on this car ? i see all of you talking about the supercharger's,and other mod's, no one talk's about the cam's,what would be the easyest and cheapest thing to put on ????? i plan to do this by the end of june with my bonus check ,so can you guy's help me out i don't want to do the wrong thing thank's.:th_thumbsup-wink:

The reason we dont talk about cams is because they're an advanced level mod.

Do you know how to set the timing on a 3800?

also, we dont talk about any real mod here other than basic flow mods such as intake and exhaust work since most here dont do high level builds. So no, we don't talk about superchargers and we dont talk about cams all that much either.

with these engines, a cam is very much a suggested mod if you want to get past 300 WHP.

You basically need every other mod but headwork or a cam to hit 300 WHP on the stock cam but you should be able to crack the 12's.

Apparently the stock cam runs out at 350 WHP, but I the club GP dyno list suggests otherwise.

Straight from the list:

Stock Cam:
1. DJ Whiz w/ 317WHP (I/C, stock heads, 1.9 rockers, 8.5:1 CR) [STD]
2. 40thGTP w/ 315WHP (I/C, stock heads, 1.9 rockers)
3. Bronzo23 w/ 303WHP (I/C, stock heads, 1.9 rockers) [SAE]
4. John C w/ 295WHP (non-I/C, stock heads, 1.9 rockers)
5. L67cooled w/ 290WHP (I/C, stock heads)

I have to imagine a cam swap it no fun on these cars, either. I think you can do a cam/spring swap on the GTO in 6 hours or so. What's it take on the GP?
