Yeah i didnt even think about the cam gear, it is a short block from zzp and it came already deleted. I now have a double roller for it i just need to have the chamfer machined on the crank gear, hopefully i can get it done next week. I assume that zzp blocked the oil galley but you know what assuming does. What am i looking for?Selliott, you are correct. Balance shaft drive gear is missing. The gear sandwiches the magnet between the cam gear.without the balance shaft drive gear excessive camshaft end play will allow the cam to walk back and forth. Check the balance shaft rear bearing, there is a oil galley that feeds the rear bearing.the bearing must be installed in a way to block the oil galley if the shaft is deleted.
So after doing some research the oil galley is plugged[/QUOTE
Balance shaft uses two bearings. Front is a roller type, rear is similar to the camshaft bearing. With a balance shaft delete, rear oil feed gallery is open, the rear bearing is installed to block the oil feed in the block.
One thought, the camshaft woodruff key damaged area. I would recommend replacing the camshaft and timing gear. If it fails, catastrophic engine fail will happen. Any movement on that little key will cause it to break.
