I have a extra engine for my GP I want to put a S1X cam in it along with some other things. I have never torn a motor down that far closest I got was a LIM gasket, I need to know what tools I need and where to get them from, plus any tips would be greatly appreciated. Small build list.

s1x
Ported SC & TB
105 springs
1.6 RR
New timing chain (stock is good? or should i upgrade to single rollmaster)

probably forgetting some stuff but that's the list so far.

awesome no special tools. Hopefully have that engine and a TEP transmission in the car by next summer.

should i get OE R lifters and some new push rods or leave them alone?

Also with the motor just being an extra time is not an issue should I yank the heads off and get a light port job or is that pointless for the s1x since its designed to run with stock heads?

Leave pushrods alone. If you want lifters, get the LS7 ones. Porting the heads will help, but it's not necessary. If you're thinking of doing it, do it, so you don't have to tear it all down again.

front cover gasket, new cam bolt, stock chain and fresh tensioner, and just lube the new cam to hell with red cam lube and or mobile 1

all can be done with your basic hand tools, torque wrench, torx bits, and a cheap angle meter

Are the only 1.6 Roller rockers available the yella terra's?

I have repeatedly googled the HS 1.6 but don't find them being sold anywhere also not listed on intense website.

I found this Comp cams part #1105-12 I believe its for a L67?

so just stick to stock Rockers Lifters and pushrods, change the cam and springs and call it a day?

Mostly I was changing all that to get the most reliable power I could.

get new stock lifters.

Aka LS7 OEM lifters.

$130 seems to be the going rate for a set of 16.

So, cam, lifters, springs, retainers, valve seals, and some sort of freshened timing chain.

S1X.... definately new stock chain and new tensioner.

Yea u can get a set of 12 from Texas speed for 98.00.

New list

Ported sc&tb
LS7 lifters
105# springs
Retainers
Valve seals
new gm timing chain & tensioner
