I have a 2000 pontiac grand prix gt.For the past 2 weeks my car has been burning waay too much gas.I fill up,drive a total of 24 miles to and from work and i'm already burned a 1/4.I drive about 60-65 mph.I have a cat-back exhaust system and CAI.The engine light has been on for a while, muffler shop tested it,its reading an air code,410 i think.Got the cat convertor replaced.and the secondary air injection pump and cut off valve needs to be replaced. This wouldnt be causing it to burn would it?

hmm hard to say the secondary injection is quite different on this car. i know it has to deal with emissions. ( air, fuel control ) so yea, it should hum or whistle when u start the car and u will hear a sound when it turns off. car warm and not ran for about 5 or 10 minutes. if it comes on and works then check for vacuum, or air leaks, or other issues...let us know so we can pass it on.
