Broken Spring

I was taking my rear wheel off due to a noise in the rearend (what i thought was a bad strut mount) and found out that my spring is broken. has anyone ever run into this? is it a common problem? i plan on replacing both rear springs now (with moog springs), but don't want to put an inferior part in. any feedback would be great!
 


Have broken spring to just found out no one is tellig reasonable cost to get repaired. I was wondering if you did yours personally and if not what did it cost you.
 
it cost me $50, but i am capable at most repairs on cars. i also have access to spring compressors, and a whole shop with all the tools i need. if you are confident and have a good set of basic hand tools, it's really not that hard. i also bought a set of used struts and springs (all assembled) from my local pull it yard, for 25 dollars, and slapped those into another gp that i had. fairly simple job.
