Broke my shifter cable

While lifting the tranny back in place, my shifter cable end broke at the bracket and near the end.

It looks like I need to replace the last for or five feet of this cable, as there's a connection at the firewall to another section of cable. Is this correct?

Can someone forward to me the part number? I can't find it in my parts breakdown, and I need to start looking for one.

regards,

Yes these are typically a two piece cable and this is an adjustment point so it must be set up properly and there is a thread on here somewhere about how to do that. Contact Morad Parts Company and ask them for a cable, it will be much cheaper than a new one and they can likely just sell the half you need but a whole cable wouldnt be a bad idea just in case.

Thanks for the lead on Morad. I ordered a cable. Just to verify: With the correct procedure I only need to remove the bottom half of the cable from the firewall? Or should I fish the entire cable thru (which I'd like to avoid if possible). thanks.

You should only have to replace the end under the hood, just take the new cable apart if you ordered a complete one and attach it with your existing cable.
