Brembo brakes (ATS)

Well I needed new brakes and since I can't leave anything alone I decided to do a Frankenstein project. I installed calipers for a 2013 ats-v 4 piston brembo bolted right up. Replaced hoses with ats-v hoses. The rotors are where it gets interesting ats-v rotors will not work due to the hat height. They are 321mm diameter. F body rotors are only 315 mm leaving pads hanging over the top. impala/lacrosse rotors are 321mm right height wrong hub bore. Gxp rotors are 323mm and fit however the pads hang over the centers just a bit. Any advice?

No they fit fine just need more rotor surface area. As the GXP rotors taper toward the hat instead of being flat. Just curious if anyone has found a rotor that meets those criteria.

this isnt going onto a W or H body?

the hub bore of the 12" W rotor should fit your hub....

sounds like you just need to have the bores opened up on the one rotor

Hub bore is fine. Pad to rotor surface area is to small as on the w rotors they taper inward toward the hat. As far as getting the bore opened up on the ats rotors the hat itself is to tall. Almost 2.5 inches vs the w 2"

Hey, did you ever find a solution for this? I noticed that ZZP sells a kit that uses the ATS calipers you're talking about. They mention the have some "custom ZZP caliper shim." Looking at their picture, they have the 6 piston caliper brake pad clip instead of the 4 piston brake pad clip and I'm wondering if that's how they got the pad centered on the rotor better.

No I did not, and I have never seen this and the kit they are selling is pretty reasonable. I spent about $450 piecing this together. For the front. I will try and call to get more info on those shims. I can also say that as is now it is a night and day difference.

Also it does fit 17" wheels these do clear the caliper height however a 1." wheel spacer is required for x factor clearance. I went with a 1.25" to clear the oem studs 04-08. Side note put the spacers on all 4 wheels not just the front ( requires rolling and stretching rear fenders) otherwise it will handle terrible.

Agreed, their kit isn't too bad. I'd buy it but I'm not interested in the pads or rotors they sell in the kit. Let me know if you hear anything on the shims in their kit.

Good to know on the wheels, I'm running 18" Bonneville GXP wheels so hopefully I won't have issues there.

So I finally got around to calling zzp they of course would not give me any info. Have to buy the whole kit. Gee thanks. I would say for now the best bet is to trim/mill a little off the bottom of the pad. I am still running them as is no issues yet, however I am certain the pads will eventually wear angled due to them being about 2mm to close to the center.
