Brake fluid color

So on my gtp with 264,xxx miles, the brake fluid is starting to look like a dark color which puts up a red flag in my head.

What does dark fluid mean though? is something getting into the system??

I've done it the red neck way too, suck the fluid out of the res or soak it up with a rag, then fill with new and do that again a few days later. Hitting a dirt parking lot of dirt road to pulse the ABS system helps too.

that will never clear out the old fluid in the calipers tho.

i turkey baster out the master res dry, fill with new fluid, then start rr to lr then rf then lf. bleed each wheel caliper till clear new brake fluid comes out the bleeder of each caliper.

dont let the master run dry, keep it topped off.

I use a turkey baster to remove all the old fluid from the reservoir, then I fill with it with new brake fluid, then start rr to lr then rf then lf. Bleed each wheel caliper until clear brake fluid comes out.

do not let the master cylinder reservoir run dry, keep it topped off.

Fixed that for you... again
