Brake discs - a good cheap set?

My Grand Prix is my daily driver, and I really don't like putting any more money into it than I have to, especially with a flaky transmission that I may or may not get fixed. Anyway, I check RockAuto and they have a few inexpensive break discs, about $25 each. I figure it's probably cheaper to just buy new ones than to get my current ones resurfaced. Can any one recommend a decent inexpensive set? I'll of course be putting new brake pads on at the same time. And with the pads, same deal. I don't need performance or super quality ones, just working ones. I don't want to go to a shop because I figure in labor alone there's $200. I should be able to get four rotors and the pads for less than that, right?

Get some decent brakes at least. Brakes are one thing you do not want to cheap out on. Just go to the parts store and get what ever their mid range is. I hate autozone pads tho they dust horribly.

i have a 01 GP and i did my shoe's/rotors last year. i used wagner rotors along with "performance friction" shoe's. they're available at oreilly auto parts for a total of $320.00 with tax.

I second what 01GTP said.. Dont cheap out on breaks you might need em some time you know :)

yes duralast gold right mine make dust baddd

You can buy Brembo blanks, little bit of an upgrade for cooling and such and are pretty cheap. And for pads you can get Hawks, not to expensive and are a good brake pad for better stopping, I was very happy with them on my Camaro.

Whats everyones thoughts on Ebay rotors? I had a set on one car and never had a problem with them. I also ran good pads with them.

The problem I've found with the cheap rotors... you get what you pay for. The ones I had bought for my other car got the dreaded wobble inside of 5K miles. I'd say it was the pads, but they were EBC reds which are a pretty good pad to me.

wagners are barely made in the USA aka... cheap **** just like the economy ones.

Get centric premium rotors. They're the ****.

I just put a set of rotors on our pickup truck. Made in China. I'm not expecting the world from them, of course it's not really used much, either.

If you're using midgrade or cheap pads then you'll be okay.

Start using high temp range pads and you might run into issues.
