Brake Caliper check...

How can I verify my brake calipers are working properly? I want to check my rear ones once more. How far do the pistons push out and retract? I think i need to get some solid info on this. I have a feeling i'm over looking something. Thanks....

The only check needed should be do they grab, and do they release. If you apply pressure without a rotor and pads in there you're going to blow the piston out.

I was wondering if they'd actully come out. I thought there was a way to measure the travel though? Maybe not. I'm no brake expert.

If you have a big pair of channel locks, you can squeeze between the caliper and the bracket to ensure that the sliders arn't seized up. make sure to pump the brakes again before driving afterwards.

Well the pads and rotors are low mileage, so they don't show my if anything. In fact, they look damn good IMO. This is tricky.
