Boost level expectation?

I've searched but am not seeing any results.

Basically, I'm wondering what level of peak boost I should expect to read at WOT. Set up is Reptile tune, 3.4 pulley, headers...

Highest I've seen flash at me, scanning with Torque, is right about 8lbs. For most of the pedal mash boost is in the 6 to 7 range. Isn't that low for a 3.4?

Also looking to do a pulley drop since knock looks in order. What should a 3.2 achieve?

Thanks guys.

i used to make about 10 in the summer and 12 in the winter on a 3.4 with rockers. you wont see the max boost # till your red line the rpms. aka at the shifts.

so you might be a bit low, maybe the bbv needs to be adjusted, or your cars a freak and flows very well.

kr in check means? no kr or a little bit of kr? that 3.4 is typically the wall unless you have a cam or more flow mods.

my mod list in my sig nets me 8 psi. im on a 3.2 pulley now.

there are a lot of variables that go into boost. by definition, boost is the presence of restriction inside an engine. with that being said, more boost does not always mean more power. I live at 7000 feet elevation, and I am lucky to see 8 lbs of boost on a 3.0" pulley. so it's hard to say if your car is making the boost that it should. you could check your bbv and push it down, if possible, that by itself can make 1 more lb of boost of it's not adjusted right.

So with regard to Torque's accuracy: how accurate is it generally considered to be with things like KR?

I ask because the last time I did a KR read with BrandonHall in Tucson using HPtuner, I had more occurrences of KR than Torque showed from my read last night.

Not sure how much of that is Amarillo being 1300ft higher than Tucson was though?
