Body Trim On Door Coming Off

OK, so my trim along the bottom of the door on my 03 grand prix gt is coming off. I bought some 3M molding tape (i heard its really sticky and should do the job), but If i take that piece completely off to get the old adhesive off, will it go back on properly with any hastle or should i try to do it just by carefully peeling the top back and taking the old tape off (I bought 3M adhesive remover) and putting the new on without taking it off completely. Help..
 


You should feel free to take of the trim piece, remove the old adhesive, and reapply the new adhesive. Just make sure everything is clean!
