I need to know what the part is called.

It would normally be a seperate piece called an "Air Dam", however from the diagrams it appears the 04+ GP has them integrated into the extension piece..

I need to order a new one and would like to order the right part, Thank in advance for your time.

What is this part truly called today and is there a difference in models?

It appears to be attached to #7

It's called an Air Dam, that's what the guy at GM will call it, personally I'd go for the SE (Special Edition they only had for 2006-2007) you can see it in my sig on my car, it's a little bigger and is meant to be painted to match the car. It'll cost you about $280 for this one and maybe half of that for the original front Air Dam. Other than the Special Edition (SE/Spring Special) Air Dam they're all the same from 04+.

In case anyone else come across this old question, it's called the lower air deflector. Just bought one & it lists for about $100.00

GM dealer. Perhaps we are not talking the same part? What I am refering to attaches to the bottom of the rad supt, bumper reinf bar and the lower bumper cover. It is black plastic and has a spoiler or air dam/deflector molded in. It's the thing that sticks down & always gets drug against curb stops. This is the same part from 04-08 on the base models and GTs.

What your thinking of is number 11, he's referring to the front Air Dam which is number 7.
