Well, its another event in the books. It was a good event and I wish more of you could have made it, it was a very good meet.

It was especially good to finally put faces to some of the screen names, though some of you were pretty scary (Reptile, Abrasive, LOL). Just kidding. I aint no Fabio myself.

The even was pretty much dominated by Kansas club members. I got to meet Swash who Im pretty sure is an escapee from the local mental hospital. I also got to meet Trannyman and his wife and they are as every bit as nice in person as they are through IM's and PM's. The more I hear Dave talk and share his insight and wisdom the more I become convinced he is a genius at more than just transmissions.

I got to meet and see others like Curtis, GeddyLee, Farnsworth, and many more. Just truly top notch people and inspirational in their participation and commitment to the community. I truly wish I could have spent more time with everyone but I was fighting some kind of head cold and I would get up in the morning and it would take me the better part of an hour or so to get my head cleared and my sinuses to stop running like a faucet and left me really low on energy levels.

You all are truly, truly the epitome of what this community is all about. You all were a blast to be around and I hope for many more encounters in the future.

Thank you Abrasive for bringing the block and heads, hopefully by the time the next meet comes around I will have everything assembled and spank Reptile a little on the track. Thank you Trannyman for the awesome deal on the single chain, and especially thank you for being so giving at the meet and for the experience of seeing that beast of a Cutlas run. A big thanks also to Green Bastard Products for all the items they dontated. Folks, you MUST check out the posters Abrasive is making they are simply top notch. If you dont get one, you are missing out.

I truly feel honored to be a part of this community after seeing all of you. Im already looking forward to next years event.

I also would be completely amis if I did not say thank you to all the wifes and girlfriends that came along as well. THAT was impressive. To see that kind of support from what tends to be mainly a male dominated thing it was refreshing to see the number of you that showed up. Very impressive and each of you deserve recognition. I hope all of you had a great time.

My hats off all of you that donated, helped, participated and showed up. It would not be possible without you.

great post

had a great time down here too, and will def be back next year but with the GN. Nice to finally be able to put some faces with the names from the boards.

Big thanks to Chris for putting it all together!!!!

at least by failing to win ANYTHING in the raffle, i donated the most to charity : - P

Was nice to meet some new people and see others from last year. A bad sunburn (bald head+no hat+few hours on a sunny afternoon=disaster) took me out Friday night:th_shakinghead1:. Sounds like I missed a lot of fun Saturday. Well there is always next year.

I had a freaking GREAT time! Made more friends this year, it was good meeting you, Scotty....and Kent and significant other. Even XXChodyXX and his EPIC moments LOL

I think that Scotty had more fun than he let on down there, because I saw this just as I was getting ready to leave after taking a few pics at lake Taneycomo. He went and bough himself a damn Trout Dock! LMAO!

Definately a fun time as it has been in the past and I strongly suggest for those who couldnt make it to try to attend next year. It is a great bunch of guys getting together to have a good time and is for a great cause. As always it was nice to see the KC crew again and meet a few new faces and hang out. Will have to bring some more corn-hole next year so I will practice up lol.

It was really nice finally meeting all of you in person. Some of you i've talked to for years, its was really nice putting a name to a face. I couldn't be part of a better group as far as i'm concerned.

Trannyman, Thanks for sharing your vast knowledge with me. We talked about several things, and answered many questions I had. Nice to see your Cutty too! As you know i have a childhood attachment to those cars and its nice to see one done up in the L67 platform. Look forward to see it twin charged in the future.

To the Wichita guys for letting me hang w/ and enjoy a couple sites. It was fun! Dinner was great, so was the Wine tasting, and hanging out at the Dam. Farnsworth was a riot! Nice new setup too, we need to talk more about that one too, i'm interested :-)

It was nice to meet xxchodyxx and talk about GNs and his car. I wish I got to see it this year, oh well, theres always next year. I'm sure by then it will be even more wicked!

And to John Kanaly, thanks for share many of your ideas w/ me and talking in length about them. We will be in touch.

Thanks to Abraisive for the shots of my car, look forward to seeing all your pics and vids!

I could go on and on about each and every person I met. I met alot of well rounded people. Three days wasn't long enough to learn all I could learn from the group of people we had. Nice to meet all of you and I hope to see all of you next year, I hope I can make it again!

You had to go let the cat out of the bag. It was an upstream battle trying to keep a lid on that one.

wish i could have been there but im concerned about the GP making it next year seeing how i finally rolled 200000 miles today but if i work on it hard enough maybe the car gods will be in my favor and im from massachusetts if ppl didnt know

Great post my man.

I'm working on putting one together with pictures of my weekend as well.

It was great to FINALLY meet you Scotty, the man behind the keyboard. Good thing is you talk, and and the same way you do behind the computer.:th_thumbsup-wink:

Shawn, any time you can hang out with us, we'll invite ya on in since there were no other Okies that came up with ya.

Swash is nutty, but damn funny. Its not Branson for me if hes not there. I don't know how I ever survived the first one. I hope he attends them all regardless of what he drives. (*cough RWD Cavalier cough*) ;) LOL

All the others I got to meet for the first time, and see again, I hope you can make it again next year. Only event I look forward to every year now, cause its just so damn fun, and no matter how many pictures you see...thats not even the half of it. Have to remember...many things are missed when there is no camera around.

Big shout out goes to Chris and his wife and all the regional staff members for all they they do to pull this event off. Lot of work goes into it, and it shows by how smoothly it runs. I notice, and I know, and wanted you to know it is appreciated.

Last but not least, thank you goes out to all who have voted during the car show. Lots of good looking cars every year, and I make it a point to vote somebody different each year in different categories. Curtis, you deserve every bit of that first place trophy man, the car is amazing, and I am happy I was able to help you with sponsorship (with out you knowing ha ha ha).

I ended up taking second place in the 1997-2003 category, so thanks goes out to those who voted for that. Then, ending the event with Best of Show was actually a surprise to me, again. I figured last year John Oliver would of won that, and this year with out a doubt Curtis, as I voted for John last year, and Curtis this year for best of show. So, thank you all for your votes for that as well.

Its just being there, hanging out, and doing all these fun things as a group that makes this one hell of a fun event. Waking up at 7am with my damn internal clock and not going to bed till 2:30/3am is fun believe it or not. Half the time, your having so much fun every night you don't even know what time it is. Now, waking up in a different bed the next morning is different. Right Shannon?

LOL
