Best way to replace rear dome lights?

As the title suggests, I would like to remove the dome light lenses on both sides. Note this is a '98 coupe so I think it's different than 4dr. The lens is in place, rock hard, with no apparent clean way of taking it off. Are there any tricks to doing this without mutilating the surrounding plastic? Thanks.
