Anyone on here dabble much in the stock market? I just dropped the biggest amount I've ever spent on anything in stocks, and I am a first time investor. Seeing what works for you guys, what your buying for cheap with decent returns/dividends etc.

Might help others as well, as we're all trying to get rich while having money to mod!
 


I would offer the following advice having current investments & doing day trading while I went through university:

Start early
Take 80% of your invested money & put into low risk reasonable return (say 5%)
Take the other 20% & go higher risk investments (depending on your age)

Making lots of money for retirement takes either big returns or a long time. You may have the time but may not be able to achieve the return. So keep the lions share of your invested money in lower risk imo.
