ok so after some debating on here today i decided to ditch the 3" pvc intake tube and stock rubber elbow that has the bellows in it, and just go open cone off the tb:

i took the car for a drive and it felt slower and didnt seem to sound the same, so i came back to the house poped the hood and saw the intake just laying in the engine bay with the iat sensor just dangeling in the wind lol..... and heres what caused that to happen

K&N filter Fail!... so it made sense why the car seemed to feel slugish and not as quick. so went to autozone but a new filter and used a 3 to 4 inch intake coupler that i had and here is the final result

took the car for a drive and it seems to pull a little harder in the higer rpms. i think its safe to say there is more airflow and that this is the better choice
 


btw...I do dig that weight reduction K&N filter you got there...thats the reason why I never bought one again and kept sticking with AZ Spectre 9" filters...cheap...effective...gets the damn job done.

I noticed you have your headers wrapped. Are there better gains by doing so? And what did you use and where can i get it?
 
He just wrapped the crossover because it is under the TB.

and I like your useless Wizaird box you got there :D
 


Lmao here we go. But yes only my crossover pipe is wrapped, you can get it at Autozone,pepboys,advance auto etc. And I have a lot more pics and Vids, ill post em up when I get home later
 
HAHA The box is useless? Does wrapping the crossover really reduce heat from the TB? I wanna do it if it does or should i just wrap the whole headers? I replaced my intake pipe also because the cheap dryer tube that came with it was so flimzy and deteriorated over time. I need to replace my filter also lls ive had the same for for like a year.
 
Do not wrap the headers just to the cross over pipe, and yes it does make a difference. And if you want just do a intake similar to mine and sell your old one lol
 
You know you're driving an auto when.............

the speedo is centered and twice as large as the tach... :D.

Good that you tried both and found the best for your application.
