Barely Getting Hot Air

NOTE: I actually don't own a Grand Prix - a friend of mine who doesn't use a computer has one and asked me to post a message for them to help them troubleshoot a problem they're having. So any replies might take longer than usual since I only see them a couple of times a week.

I'm trying to get my 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix to throw out hot air, but it's just barely throwing out heat. I've put a thermostat in it. I've also put a new switch on it that controls the hot and cold air. On top of that, I checked the hot water hose that goes into the heater coil (so it's circulating). There's no visible leak on the hose. But still no hot air.

If anyone knows what the problem might be, let me know. Thanks in advance for your help.

if both heater hoses are hot when up to full running temp the core is ok, if one is hot or cold or both are just warm, you got air in the core.

if theres no air trapped in the core its a blend door actuator. http://www.grandprixforums.net/threads/21941-Blend-Door-Actuator-Replacement

you can take them off and turn the little knob by hand to see if you get heat when turned. it dont move much, so dont go trying to make it turn more then a 1/2 inch either way.
