Bad transmission... What to do?

Evenin guys.

Alright so my 04 has a HORRIBLE transmission. Already got 217,000kms and everytime it changes gears it has a huge clunk and believe me, you can feel it.

A couple of friends from work are telling me that changing the fluid is the WORST possible thing to do. Why is this? My dad was telling me that he had changed the fluid when it first started acting up which only made it worse.

I'm thinking about going to a junkyard and seeing what I can find. I'm a complete newb when it comes to trannys, so I'll probably get a friend to pull it out and put it back in or use a shop.

What do you guys think?
 


When changing fluid your flushing anything out that might still be holding it together... Your best bet is to contact Morad or looking at a local junk yard for a low mileage/different tranny.. Might also look at local shops to see what it would cost to rebuild, if you decide to go this route I'd ask how many of these they have rebuilt?
 
If changing the transmission fluid makes the transmission worse, it was shot to begin with. Doing a transmission in one of these cars takes about a weekend to do.
